Hi, I am Leslie and I am in Adelaide, South Australia.

Adelaide, geographically, is in the south central part of Australia and is the capital city of the state of South Australia. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and cool winters.

While Melbourne, Victoria has been having the Commonwealth Games, Adelaide has been preparing for this weekend’s Clipsal 500, an exciting “tin-top” motor race over 500 kilometres (about 310 miles). The race is run on the streets of Adelaide city and you can hear the sound of the motors roaring 3 klms away.

Adelaide is a pleasant city of parks, gardens and churches. The people are friendly and will take the time for a chat, especially with our many visitors.

We have been the butt of jokes for many years because of our airport terminal. Our airport, at West Beach, is just a few minutes drive from downtown Adelaide, but our terminal has been a source of jokes and disappointment for many years.

But now, at last, we have a new domestic/international terminal with all the bells and whistles. I haven’t seen it myself yet, my last flight in was to the old terminal, but I am told that it is very functional, if not beautiful.

Well that’s just a taste of what Adelaide is all about, I’ll post more details in the coming weeks.

Adelaide has many vibrant communities, some of the richest scenery in the world and is the birth and burial place of many of the makers of our national heritage.
It has a good reputation as a place to live, work, and play, plus much.. much more……
