Deceiving Women - Attn Australians.

The Australian Government is funding
organisations which claim to offer unbiased professional advice to
pregnant women in crisis, but in reality are anti-choice and refuse to
advise, provide or refer for an abortion.
Right now, the Federal Parliament is considering legislation which will
end this deception. Your support for this could make all the difference.
These anti-choice activists disguise themselves by using generic-sounding
organisational names such as Pregnancy Help Australia, which received
$300,000 last year in Federal Government funding. They exploit vulnerable
women to further their own undisclosed agenda of discouraging women from
choosing abortion.
Unwitting callers have been called "murderers"; told that
abortion increases the risk of breast cancer, and that it will prevent
them from becoming pregnant in future. It's estimated over 11,000 women a
year come into contact with these false providers.
This simply must stop! Australian women have the right to know what
kind of counselling they're really getting.
Currently, these "counsellors" who don't charge for their
information are not prohibited from engaging in misleading or deceptive
advertising. Right now there is legislation now before a Senate Inquiry to
close this dangerous loophole; and to ensure organisations that receive
Federal Government funding provide honest and unbiased information.
Australian women deserve protection from deceptive and misleading
advertising and information. Please lend your support to this important
campaign now.
